Last week four of our team members traveled to Thailand for Youth for Christ International General Assembly. Three of those staff members were invited to participate in a unique Young Leaders experience with YFC leaders from around the world. They returned, tired, yes, but also renewed, encouraged, and equipped to take ministry deeper. Here is Sara Burgett's reflection on the week:
"God did some amazing things in my heart and for the ministry of Campus Life as I traveled to the other side of the world to Thailand for 12 days. I was a part of the YFC International General Assembly conference as a Young Leader for the US. It was an incredible trip meeting people from around the world who love YFC and love Jesus, worshipping with them, and learning with and from them!
I feel refreshed in my personal relationship with Christ, and I feel clarity and new vision for how to better our local ministry of Campus Life. Through this experience, I am reminded of the importance of prayer. We need to be on our knees for students praying that they encounter Christ in a real way. This is how their hearts will be changed.
The worship of many languages was another remarkable aspect of this trip. During one of the evening worship sessions people from many languages came up to sing 'How Great Thou Art' each in their own language. It was so beautiful seeing people from around the world praising the name of Jesus!
I am thankful for the opportunity I had to be a part of this trip, and I'm excited to continue serving youth in our area and being more equipped to do so!"
